Synopsis

When JASON, TIANA and their friends stumble upon a hidden cellar in a supposed haunted house, secrets and danger unravel a chain of unfortunate events. Alternating narrators JASON and TIANA's lives intertwine like a helix in this action-packed adventure with a heart-warming twist!

Jason, determined to reclaim his football dreams after a broken arm, struggles to accept a newfound reality when his mother reveals why his dad left. He believes he's responsible for releasing a curse when he steals pennies from the old cellar.

Tiana employs the help of her best friend MADDY to form a PI agency to get to the bottom of her father's enigmatic actions. A fall in the old house while exploring the secret cellar leaves Tiana concussed. She's devastated to miss two weeks of football, especially with Jason's return.

Jason unexpectedly reunites with his dad, and with the help of supportive friends like MITCH, he learns that just because bad stuff happens doesn't mean he's cursed.

Tiana discovers that there is always hope, whatever obstacles life throws at her.

"Busted" is Steve Heron's third middle-grade contemporary realistic fiction book.

This action-packed adventure with a heartwarming twist takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster with laughter and tears. Readers will reflect on their own sense of self and discover that they are okay, that problems can be solved, friendships can be repaired, and forgiveness is powerful.
