Synopsis

Islam is a profoundly deep and meaningful way of life through which man is enabled to inject each moment of his earthly existence with harmony, balance and a sense of the Sacred. Sufism, or Tasawwuf, is the esoteric or mystical teaching of Islam. It is a key given to man with which he can unlock the secret of his own existence and come to possess the forgotten and neglected treasure hidden within his being. It is able to lead mankind to that quiet and peace which is hidden at the centre of his being and whose attainment is possible at all times and places. It can deliver him from the crushing storm of events in this life and the uproar of the external world without necessitating abandonment of that world.

À propos de l'auteur

Murshid F. A. Ali ElSenossi began his journey in North Africa with a strong familial connection to Sufism (tasawwuf). He isa Shaykh within the tariqa Burhaniyya-Dasuqqiyya-Shadhuliyya and Spiritual Director of the Almiraj Sufi and Islamic Study Centre, Australia. As well as being a location for seekers of knowledge to access the Sufi teaching, it was also the first Sufi bookshop in Australia. Murshid Ali has delivered countless public talks across Australia to a wide variety of audiences and has consistently provided teaching within the Sufi Centre in its various locations, as a means for members and visitors alike to gain further knowledge of the higher teachings of tasawwuf. His murids, both in Australia and across the globe, maintain regular contact with him.
