‘Nana’s Garden’ is beautifully illustrated in watercolour by Teesh Downes.
It is a story celebrating the wisdom shared between Nana and grand daughter. Moira loves her nana, and she loves her nana’s garden. Together they play, explore, and tend the garden together. Moira gets frustrated by the many weeds that ‘want to take up all the space’ but nana reminds her it is better to worry less about the weeds, and focus upon what she wants to grow.
Written by family therapist Annette Flanagan, this heart warming story gently draws on ideas from interpersonal neurobiology, reminding us how attention, connection, and repeated experiences shape our brains, hearts, and lives.
Parents dealing with the complexities of childhood anxieties, will enjoy this simple journey back to what matters most.
