Aussie Readers Decodable Texts - Set 1 are carefully designed to help early readers experience success from the very beginning. Each text allows children to practise reading using previously taught simple phonetic code alongside a small number of phonetically irregular "tricky words", building confidence and fluency step by step. Set 1 focuses on the sounds: m, s, t, a, p, i, f, c, r Tricky words included: my, the, I, a, is Each set begins with a special Blend Hunt book-a fun, "Where's Wally?"-style text designed to support early blending skills. Children practise blending words using the target sounds, then search for and identify the matching item on each page, reinforcing decoding through meaningful engagement. Aussie Readers decodable texts follow a systematic, synthetic phonics approach, ensuring children only read sounds and words they have already been taught. This makes Set 1 ideal for beginning readers, early intervention and families or classrooms seeking structured, evidence-based reading support. Perfect for use at home or in the classroom, Aussie Readers Decodable Texts - Set 1 lay the foundations for confident, independent reading.
