Phyllis Hinz and Lamont Mackay

While teaching high school in Surrey, British Columbia, Lamont was bitten by two life-altering bugs--food and travel. She left her job behind and joined forces with Phyllis Hinz, and after initially working together in a country hotel kitchen, they travelled Europe in a VW van, became restaurateurs, and opened their own catering company. Eventually, Lamont and Phyllis sold their businesses, along with everything they owned, and set off to travel North America in a motorhome. Lamont sees adventure around every corner whether panning for gold in the Yukon or tasting a new dish in Alabama. With Phyllis, she has appeared on RVTV and worked as an official Kitchen Expert for Home Hardware. Under the name of The Cooking Ladies the two co-author online blogs, write travel stories, and a maintain regular column in RV Lifestyle Magazine. They have collaborated on ten cookbooks.
