Synopsis

God seems to have certainly blessed Daisy Ridel. She’s happy, her faith is strong and her countenance oozes empathy.

Always down to help, Daisy supports drunks and druggards in her daily life, buying groceries, baking desserts and cooking healthy, fulfilling meals for children who need a little love.

There is nothing Daisy won’t do to help a stranger in need, even if it means she is continuously broke.

However, despite this, she is friendless. Her social life then takes a turn for the better in her tenth grade year of high school.

Free, volunteer tutor sessions are the start of a deep, lifelong friendship between Daisy and the bad boys of school - something no one expected even with all the clichés about the good girl and bad boy.

Daisy was innocent, is still innocent and now she’s helping suffering, hopeless souls regain that innocence—by showing them that even if most people can’t see the world through rose tinted glasses, she does and will always see the best in people because hope never dies. Hope may not be rushing through veins, burning to get out but it is an ember and all an ember needs is a flame—and Daisy Ridel is this small town’s flickering flame of hope.

Daisy: Walk Like Jesus by Deanna Jones is about Christian living. This is book 1 of the series.

Praise for Daisy: Walk Like Jesus

"What does it take to become a saint? Daisy Ridel is finding out. The communion of saints is replete with many shining examples who are remarkable for their youth. Not having yet earned a place among the powers of this world, young people like Daisy walk through the ordinary days of their life dealing with the people that God has placed in their path, trying to do what St. Teresa of Calcutta calls “doing ordinary things with extraordinary love.”

Many are the personalities in Daisy’s life. The Watsons, the Smiths, Jonah, Col, Peter and Paul. “Every life has a story”, and Daisy tries to meet each person where they are, with their joys and sorrows, their ups and downs. A woman of prayer herself, she is committed to a life of prayer: daily Mass, the rosary, the examples of saints. Daisy exudes an acceptance of all whom she meets, trying to mirror the love and acceptance that God has for each one. She is the quintessential “volunteer”, who steps in to offer her time, talents and treasure for any in need, without counting the cost. She follows the goal of at least one Church movement, Cursillo: to evangelize your environment.

Jesus tells us that what we do to the least of our brothers and sisters, we do to Him. Daisy is trying to live that teaching in every day, on every page."

"In this book Daisy displays over and over again the beauty of living in Christ’s presence in every circumstance, letting His love in her heart dictate her response to people to whom it comes as a shock.

Read this book to see what can happen when the love of Jesus possesses a committed teenager so completely that even the most damaged people cannot ignore Him."
