“Ayesha” is about a woman who claims to be immortal because of an accident in which she swallowed water from a fountain of youth. In “Ayesha” Haggard wanted to show how dangerous can be immortality if one does not know to use it with moderation and humanity towards others.
The plot of this story takes place on an imaginary African country called “Kôr”. As soon as the reader starts reading this book he immediately becomes interested in finding out more regarding that country because all characters talk about Kôr like if it was something real or existed once upon a time.
