8th Reconnaissance Regiment (14th Canadian Hussars) is designed to aid the following in their research: genealogists both professional and amateur, military historians, historians, those whose ancestors served with the regiment, and anyone who has an interest in Canadian military history. The publication is also designed to be a memorial book to the men of the 8th Reconnaissance Regiment (14th Canadian Hussars) who gave their lives during the Second World War. The book is not designed to be a formal or definitive history of the regiment.
8th Reconnaissance Regiment (14th Canadian Hussars) features a brief history of the regiment, nominal rolls of those who were awarded medals, honours, and awards and those who gave their lives during the Second World War. Also included is information on the war cemeteries that the regiments fallen are buried in and or commemorated at. The book is dedicated to the authors grandfather Trooper John Ivor Griffin who served with the 8th Reconnaissance Regiment (14th Canadian Hussars) during the Second World War.
