J.T. Lund is an educator, reading specialist and children's book author living just outside Calgary, AB, Canada. Growing up in a large rural family, J.T. Lund took on a role as helper, caregiver and supportive teacher. This experience and love of teaching inspired her to become a grade K-6 teacher, with a focus on instructing children how to read. Noticing the complexity of the reading process, J. T. Lund furthered her studies and received a master's degree in education. With a renewed level of confidence in her teaching abilities, J.T. Lund decided to take on another challenge as program coordinator and reading specialist. She worked with teachers, parents and other professionals to help them understand the components of reading and how to successfully implement curriculum, reading programs and reading lessons. It was during this time that Ms. Lund recognized a critical shortage of resources and books written for students moving from mastery of letter sounds to the next stage of emergent reading. Using her research and experience, J.T. Lund developed and created a special series of decodable books. The LetterBox Series was written with children in mind. The books are easy to comprehend, have vibrant illustrations, carefully chosen text, and are loved by beginning readers. It is with pleasure that J. T.
