Born in Breaston, Derbyshire, Michael John Smedley has worked as a manager for such diverse companies as Vauxhall Motors, Rank Xerox, and the National Physiotherapy Service. From the age of thirteen he has been a keen club cricketer and is today the chairman of Breaston Cricket Club.He lives in West Bridgford near Nottingham. This is his third novel.
