Devika Rarangachari has won 19 national awards in India for her writing for children. Her books have told the stories of many iconic figures in India's history including the great poet and scholar Tenali Raman and the legendary Hindu leader Swami Vivekananda. She helps run the Children's Book Forum at the India Habitat Centre.
