As a diplomat involved in negotiations with Brussels, as well as with Russia and China, then as an MP and Minister for Higher Education under Margaret Thatcher, George Walden's international and political careers make him uniquely placed to confront questions about Britain's future. He has three children, and is currently a journalist and novelist (under the pen name Joseph Clyde). He lives in South West London.
