The Baked Bean Company and I wrote the following play working very closely with the pictures from the book The Drama Group. Using the original pictures as a storyboard was not only helpful but inspiring, and a great reminder to the actors of the story we were trying to tell and where we were in it at any given point. Do not be afraid to experiment and go with what feels right to the company then you will doubtless produce the group s best and most meaningful work. Break a leg! Hugh Grant, film actor and campaigner, advocate and friend to people with learning disabilities, shares his love of acting with a new audience. Sheila Hollins, founder and editor of the Books Beyond Words series, psychiatrist and independent member of the House of Lords, seeks to encourage full participation and inclusion in the creative and performing arts. Nigel Hollins, the original inspiration for Books Beyond Words and advisor to many titles, is also an amateur actor and recently appeared (very briefly!) as an extra in Hugh Grant s The Rewrite . Lisa Kopper is a distinguished artist and illustrator of children s books. She is well-known for her clear style and ability to draw feelings as well as form.
