Synopsis

This volume of Research on Emotions in Organizations contributesto the ongoing study of the emotion-related forces that shape the functioning of individual, interpersonal workplace relationships and the organizationalsystem as a whole. The chapters in this book demonstrate the complex interplaybetween emotion, cognitive processes, brain functioning and contextual factorsthat contribute to a better understanding of organizational behavior atmultiple levels of workplace life and in the context of a fast-paced, uncertainand dynamically changing work environment. Laura Petitta is an Associate Professor of Work and Organizational Psychology at the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology of the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, and Professor of Training and Organization Development. She has published in journals including Work & Stress, Safety Science, Stress & Health, Accident Analysis and Prevention, European Psychologist, the Journal of Business Ethics, the Organization Management Journal, and Group Dynamics.Charmine E. J. Härtel is Professor and Chair of HRM, OD, and Occupational Health Psychology for The University of Queensland Business School in Brisbane, Australia. Her work appears in over 200 publications, including the Academy of Management Review, the Journal of Applied Psychology, Leadership Quarterly, Human Relations, and the Journal of Management. Neal M. Ashkanasy is a Professor of Management at the UQ Business School at the University of Queensland in Australia. His research has been published in leading journals, including the Academy of Management Journal and Review, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, and the Journal of Applied Psychology. Wilfred J. Zerbe is a Professor of Organizational Behaviour and former Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. His publications have appeared in books and journals including the Academy of Management Review, Industrial and Labour Relations Review, Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences, the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Psychology, the Journal of Services Marketing, and the Journal of Research in Higher Education.
