Ima loved to play. Her boundless imagination could transport her anywhere! She battled dragons before lunch, performed dazzling magic tricks for her friends in the afternoon, and joyfully blew laughter-filled bubbles after dinner. But one day, Ima didn't feel like herself. Her parents took her to the doctor, and that's when a brand-new adventure began—one filled with brave moments, big feelings, and important lessons she'd carry with her forever. Come along with Ima as she discovers the secret superpower of asking for help, makes new friends, and learns how imagination can turn even the scariest days into something magical.

About the illustrator Julia King, from Australia, makes her debut as a book illustrator. She is currently in her ninth year of battling a brain disease called anti-NMDAr autoimmune encephalitis. Following her diagnosis, she began drawing zebras as a way to process and communicate her complex symptoms and experiences to her family and friends. Because of her ongoing health challenges, the illustrations took two years to complete.
