À propos des auteurs

Michael Broers is Professor of Western European History at the University of Oxford, UK. He is the author of several books about revolutionary and Napoleonic Europe, including the two-volume biography Napoleon (2014 and 2018); Napoleon's Other War: Bandits, Rebels and their Pursuers in the Age of Revolutions (2010); and The Napoleonic Empire in Italy, 1796-1814 (2005), winner of the Grand Prix Napoléon prize, 2006.

Ambrogio Caiani is a distinguished historian and author of Losing a Kingdom, Gaining a World. His other work includes To Kidnap a Pope and Louis XVI and the French Revolution. He is also a passionate liberal Catholic who wishes to modernize the Church. He teaches at the University of Kent and lives in Canterbury.

Stephen Bann is Professor of History of Art at the University of Bristol, UK.
