Synopsis

Unit 3 of the Windows Sunday School Curriculum includes five detailed lessons about Christmas: Mary Heard God’s Word, Joseph Obeyed, Shepherds Told about Jesus, Jesus was Born!, and Wisemen Brought Gifts. Each lesson has enough information for at least two 45-minute to one-hour sessions on the same story. This curriculum is written from a biblical perspective specifically for individuals with significant intellectual disabilities. Each lesson includes a Bible story, multi-sensory ways to interact and reinforce the story, prayer suggestions, crafts, facilitated discussion, and songs. Teaching this vulnerable population takes special training, so this curriculum includes a lengthy introduction that describes the authors' purposes and intent when implementing this curriculum. The authors, who both have at least masters level training in special education, have 25 years combined teaching experience, including Bible Study Fellowship and higher education.
