Synopsis

At the very start of her summer vacation, pediatrician Eleanor Marks, and her brother, chemist Alex Whitfield, discover a body. Eleanor's plan to spend relaxing time by the sea filled with great food, fascinating conversations, and much laughter, with her brother, her husband Peter, a child psychologist on summer sabbatical, and her sister-in-law Anne, a homemaker who has placed her brilliant science career on hold while raising her family, will not turn out as hoped. The secrets of many in the small town are revealed. Old scandals and new dysfunction come to light. Much unkindness and unpleasantness is seen, but so, too, is generosity of spirit and forgiveness. In the midst of amazing meals, intriguing conversations, and summer fun, lives are changed and the truth is discovered, and Eleanor must decide what to do with it.
