This book has been able to point out some of the negative issues confronting and causing damage and ultimately separation and divorce in marriages. There is a need to go back to basic and remove all elements of complexity and ungodliness to have a successful marriage. We must shift focus from the ceremonial aspect of marriage i.e. the wedding ceremony and pay attention to the original plan of marriage. Of course, individuals have different reasons for getting married and some of these reasons are justifiable. Likewise, in a world of political correctness and diversities, it is impossible to stick to one marriage style. The writer through research looked at different types of marriages based on people’s view and religion. However, it is imperative that aspiring spouses to be, should focus on marital purpose. Purpose is the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. When you lack purpose, or you do not know the purpose of a thing, abuse is inevitable. This book emphasises the importance of knowing the purpose of marriage as most people getting married this days lack purpose. To know the purpose of a thing you need to consult the manual and the manufacturer. The book therefore enjoins all would be couple to consult the originator of marriage (God) before embarking on their marital journey. The writer through research was able to look at various ways of having an enduring long-lasting marital relationship. Marriage as an institution must incorporate the good, the bad and the ugly as these truths form the basis of marriage and life realities. God initiated marriage in the creation story as revealed in the Garden of Eden. So, the book examines marriage problems from both physical and spiritual elements. And based on biblical conviction proposed that teachers, writers, counsellor should make aware to impending couples God’s view, principles, expectation and benefits of marriage. The solution therefore is not more marriage ministries, conferences or counsellors but a formal institution whereby next generation can be taught to learn and understand the purpose of marriage. Formal institutions with specific curriculum that goes beyond the essence of political correctness, religion or state to address the purpose, expectation, how to and the benefits of marriage.
