Synopsis

A planet that is Earth’s twin, called Terra, is many centuries ahead of Earth in the development of society and inventions. The planet is divided between the Terrarians who farm the land or work in factories. Both those activities cause pollution and the Angelici who are the inventors, scientists, writers, musicians who demand food produce and luxuries live in towers that rise above the smog. The Last Days are the final days of nuclear warfare between the two groups. The wars destroy the planet and life is not sustainable. Mark-K, a fourteen-year-old Angelicus, and his family, escape as their city, Platonia falls. They fly in their sky-flyers to the Old Man’s Face Mountain where Rhom-L hopes they can find safety for as long as it takes the planet to recover, perhaps for months or years. The cavern in the mountain has been prepared by scientists who had installed generators and the fuel to run them had been hoarded over recent years. They had stockpiled canned and dried food provisions and water, the most precious commodity of all. A tent village offered basic accommodation. Mark-K must live without his computer, smart phone and his robot dog, K9. However, many adventures lie ahead, and many friendships are formed. A new race living in the tunnels which riddle the insides of the mountain is discovered and creatures unlike any others on Terra become part of their new lives
