A graduate of Temple University's Department of Africology and African American Studies, Sekhmet Ra Em Kht Maat is an African-centered theorist and educator concerned with transforming the consciousness of students. Maat is an assistant professor of Africana Studies at Tennessee State University, where they teach courses in African spiritual philosophy, Africana psychology, and Africana gender and sexuality.
