He specializes in comparative politics and international relations, specifically the politics of Europe, Northern Ireland, the European Union, and of non-majoritarian forms of democracy including neo-corporatism and consociationalism.

Geoffrey L. Wood is associate professor of sociology and director of the Center for Applied Research (CFAR) at University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.

Amílcar Antonio Barreto is a professor and chair in the Department of Cultures, Societies and Global Studies at Northeastern University. He received his law degree and PhD from the University at Buffalo, SUNY. His research focuses on nationalism, race, ethnicity and gender.

Reneè D. Lamphere is associate professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice at University of North Carolina, Pembroke.
