In a world in which political opportunity and liberation seem far away, the genre of science fiction grows in cultural importance and popularity. The contributors to this collection are political and social theorists from a range of disciplines who use science fiction as inspiration for new theories and examples of speculative politics. Judith Grant is professor in political science at Ohio University.
Sean Parson is assistant professor of politics and international affairs at Northern Arizona University. JL Schatz is director of speech and debate at Binghamton University.
Michael Uhall is a political theorist currently teaching at Indiana University East. His work has appeared in Contemporary Political Theory, Nature and Culture, Critical Horizons, and Configurations.
Damian White is Professor of Social Theory and Environmental Studies and previously Dean of Liberal Arts at The Rhode Island School of Design, USA. He is the author of Bookchin - A Critical Appraisal (2008); Environments, Nature and Social Theory (2016) and the editor of Technonatures:Environments, Technologies, Spaces, and Places in the Twenty-first Century (2010) and Autonomy, Solidarity, Possibility: The Colin Ward Reader (2011).
