Synopsis

The IAFOR Journal of Education is an internationally reviewed and editorially independent interdisciplinary journal associated with IAFOR’s international conferences on education. The first issue was published in May 2013, and the journal continues to publish a minimum of two issues per year. The IAFOR Journal of Education is an Open Access, peer-reviewed, international and intercultural journal. The journal encourages interdisciplinary research, with the primary focus being on addressing critical issues and current trends and research in education. This would include exploring significant themes, exceptional programs and promising practice in the field of education, and educational policy. The anticipated audience is preservice and inservice teachers and administrators, university faculty and students, education policy makers, and others interested in educational research. Volume 3 – Issue 2 has 10 papers covering topics that include: online learning for students from diverse backgrounds; online comic in Mandarin Chinese’s vocabulary learning; learner’s patterns of using the online course tool in university classes; perceived use of online reading strategies; confronting underlying issues of racism and other prejudices for effective intercultural communication; teaching in the clinical environment; developing children's mental and physical health; students-enthusiasts' contribution to online classes; the effect of math modeling on student’s emerging understanding; English for the medium of instruction.
