Synopsis
This novel tells the story of a boy from a barrio who decided to leave the gang of thugs he’d belonged to for more than seven years. The idea was born after listening to a friend, his sister and the voice of his mother whom he heard several times after she’d died. The three suggested he go back to studying which was the only way to leave the life of poverty where he lived. Leaving wasn’t easy because he has to face up to the hounding of the gang members who turn him into a fugitive in his own environment, with no secure place to go to. He always had the shadow of his cronies who wanted to kill him. The Jefe of the gang offers a huge reward for his head or for information on his whereabouts. He doesn’t get any results, and decides on other methods that turn upside down the lives of the main actors. It’s an action novel, that crudely exposes human relations in the barrios.
