Synopsis
The Resistance is in turmoil over Tarra’s near defeat in the Boundless Jungles by the Dread Lord, along with the capture of the Hero of the Shadow Lord Wars, Darconnen Kreelos. To add to their burdens, Baradin has disappeared deep into the forest in pursuit of the large creature that grabbed LeAren: An Utani-Dannu – a giant from the old kingdoms that were thought to be lost to legends. Now, Khellaran must come to terms with the truth that has been carefully kept from him by the Dragon King, and then search for a way to redeem himself in the eyes of the one’s he holds most dear. In the far Eastern Kingdoms, Darconnen awakens to find himself shackled in a remote location and a personal prisoner to Aarondane. With his knowledge of the location to the Twelve Gateways, the Hunter’s life becomes the centerpiece for the Crimson Queen’s new demands. However, Khellaran soon learns that the only thing Aarondane desires as much as the location of the hidden portals, is the head of the one who betrayed the Crimson Queen, her only daughter, Sarna Kalenthos.
