Our daughter, Shirdetra Chark, had to learn and believe in her faith in God while fighting for her life, attending Nicholls State University, and coaching at Dillard University. Our son, D. J. Chark, had to learn his faith as a young boy and, while becoming a young man, had always kept God in his life. He learned to have faith while playing football at Louisiana State University and while dealing with the family's medical situation. Through it all, he was blessed to be drafted in the NFL. About the Author My name is Shirley Chark, and I believe that love, prayer, strength, and faith make the world stronger. I am thankful for my mother's love, which made me a caring, strong person. I'm also married to a caring, strong man named Darrell Chark Sr. We have two beautiful children, a daughter, Shirdetra Chark, and a son, Darrell Chark Jr. Our daughter is married and has a beautiful daughter of her own. God wants us all to be strong, have faith, and believe in him. He loves us all. As a family, we learned the meaning of standing strong. I believe that anything is possible as long as we fight hard and never give up.
