Sammy Sawyer was a young eager newspaper man. He worked for the Indianapolis Daily News (IDN), covering local events and lottery activity. He would be considered an average man, 5’ 10”, 155 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes, wearing dark brown glasses. He thought the mustache would make him look more mature, but you needed to look closely to see it. Sammy had that boy-next-door look that made most people trust him and like him right away. He had a great smile and a great laugh. He was raised Amish, but left the Amish to pursue his dream of becoming a famous reporter. His efforts get him caught in the middle of a mystery of shadows. His boss, Mr Moss, hears that there is something going on in the little town of Gaston, Indiana. He send Sammy to find out what it is and if there is a news story there. Sammy goes to Gaston, and finds that there is something strange in Gaston. He writes back to his boss:Mr. Moss, I spent all day in Gaston and currently am gathering information. You were right that the town is run-down with a lot of empty homes and businesses. It appears they are on the way back up as a few businesses are returning and the local real estate says they are starting to boom with home sales. I hear of a “town secret” which I am exploring. I have a dinner date tomorrow night with one of the old timers in Gaston. Hope to get some answers there. Will keep you posted as I find more info Yes—I, too, believe there is a story there. Sammy
