Synopsis
“My Backwards Day” is a rhymed children’s book written by Wayne Adams and illustrated by Mary Beth Berg. The story conveys the message that negatives can be turned into positives. It starts out with the young narrator being a bit scared by the fact that everything seems to be going wrong. The sun and moon don’t move in the usual way, people all walk around backwards, and you wouldn’t want to watch people eating! But after a while, the narrator figures out that things are okay – it’s just that for some reason time is running in reverse. As the day goes on, the youngster figures out how to deal with – even have a lot of fun with – the way things are happening, and at the end of the day eagerly looks forward to seeing how things will go –yesterday.
