A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR
“If you were to ask me why I wrote this book, I’d say I wrote it to try to assist readers such as yourself. But, as it turned out, I was also writing it for the person who needed it the most—me. I didn’t understand how much I needed it until it was in front of me and, unknown to me at the time, how it would help guide me through the very challenging year that lay ahead.
I struggled to reason why this book—or, indeed, why any of my writings or quotes—would be valued by someone like you, especially since I’ve struggled to understand my own thoughts and emotions for as long as I can remember. I’m dyslexic (I spelled dyslexic wrong, again, even while writing this), so writing this book was a struggle for me. I had a lot of emotion, but no clear plan of how to express or structure it. That sounds quite similar to what many of us face in life now.
It feels like these writings came out of me at a time when I was mentally and emotionally strong—a part of me, somewhere deep down, must have known what was going to be in store over the following months, when I would feel quite the opposite.
Throughout that difficult time, the messaging in each writing seemed to change each time I read them, depending on where I was mentally or emotionally on the day when I decided to pick up the book. These writings helped me to feel when I was incapable of feeling, they gave me answers when I had only questions. They gave me a different perspective on other people’s lives that allowed me to gain a greater understanding of my own.
I had to complete my journey with this book before I could share it with you for it to become a part of yours. Whether you love it or hate it, agree or disagree with it, all that matters is that you‘re honest with yourself about what you truly think and feel about it.
This is the first and last you’ll hear from me. The writings that lie ahead are all about you and your journey. That journey can only have a start, a middle, and an end with you guiding the way. So, it’s in your hands from here!
Wishing you love & support from my journey to yours.”
