Synopsis

Noadiah and Iliana share an Essence within the Wellspring of Life. She decides that their home is in dire need of a Broader Spectrum of Light. Noadiah is skeptical of such ventures. However, feeling lost without his Iliana he sets out to research the effects of this “Light,” only to realize that it was futile. After a misstep with a monk, he meets Joshua who offers an alternative. They agree to meet later.
Returning from his venture, Noadiah’s in his favorite haunt, That Argonaut Café, lamenting that he was unable to reconcile the effects of a Broader Spectrum of Light in the final draft of his research papers. A party in good spirits enters the Café, but it isn’t until he hears the voice of Joshua, that he turns to greet him, only to realize he interrupted their festivities. They invite him to their table. He learns they have just returned from their Journeys to the physical world. The rest of the evening is spent sharing their experiences and benefits in taking a Journey to Earth.
The following morning they visit the Viewing Pool. It’s there, Noadiah meets a young woman. Before departing she asks Noadiah to place his hand on her heart as she has on his. She then imbues a part of herself within him and withdraws an equal amount of Noadiah into her. Mystified by the exchange, Joshua suggests they retire to his home to discuss the event. Noadiah is bewildered by the encounter and agrees to spend the night at his place before making a decision. After a night’s rest, and hardy breakfast, they discuss if he has decided to meet a mentor, a man named Tobias. Noadiah confirms that he has, sensing perhaps this man can help him find the young woman, who he feels just maybe his Iliana.
In his relentless pursuit of the young woman from the Viewing Pool, he begins to understand the purpose of Journeys to the physical world. But it was only after an evening he spends with his mentor, reliving the Lives that he’d lived without Tobias’s guidance that he realizes; not just that he has defined himself, but he has found his Broader Spectrum of Light.
