Synopsis

A Study of what is often referred to as 'The Wretched Man' passage in Paul;s Letter to the Romans Chapter 7 verses 14-25. It sets out to show that the very widespread understanding, that Paul here is describing himself in his present converted state, is wrong. This is not Paul the apostle, but he is referring to a man under the Law. It is his experience as Saul the Pharisee. The arguments for both views are compared - the Common view, that all Christians are 'Wretched Men', and the view of the author and others, that on the contrary, Christians are 'more than conquerors with a new nature in Christ.
