The Black Tetra has a tetragonal body shape and has a greyish coloration – the bottom half of its body is a blackish color that fades into a light grey towards the front of its body. There are two prominent vertical black bars present near its gills. The Black Tetra was used in the creation of the genetically modified Glofish, which have a bright florescent coloration.
