Synopsis

Advances in Group Processes publishes theoretical analyses, reviews, and theory based empirical chapters on group phenomena. The series adopts a broad conception of 'group processes.' The volume includes papers that address theoretical and empirical issues related to consumer social privilege, group processes and disrupted environments, the use of time as a construct and the affective bases of self. Edward J. Lawler is Martin P. Catherwood Professor of Industrial and Labor Relations and Professor of Sociology at Cornell University. He has coauthored three books and edited or co-edited 31 volumes in the annual series, Advances in Group Processes.

Shane R. Thye is Professor of Sociology at the University of South Carolina. He works in the general area of social psychology and group dynamics. He has published articles in the American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, and Social Psychology Quarterly
