Tim Penny was born and raised in Hampshire. He went to UCL, a university in Preston where he discovered his love of storytelling and started writing. In recent years he has worked his way up in the TV industry to the position of producer/director, where he has made a number of documentary and factual series for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. He currently lives in Surrey with his wife, Camilla, and their puppy, Rosie.
