Steven Williams was born in Houston, Texas, in 1974. His mother was an immigrant from Singapore, and, growing up, he spent time in Hong Kong and later graduated in 1990. In 1995, he earned his undergraduate degree with a triple major in computer science, statistics, and economics from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and in 1996 he earned his master's degree from UC Berkeley. Today Williams is an American businessman, computer scientist, investor, and writer. He is focusing on machine learning and AI. As a businessman and investor, he co-founded and led Neuro-Focus Brain Inc. (sponsored by Battino International), building the company's Artificial Intelligence Group into a team of several thousand people. Williams is also a pioneer in online education, with Coursesest Inc., and he has successfully spearheaded many efforts to democratize deep learning teaching over 2 million students through his online courses.
