Synopsis

Billy Collins, writer, poet and Master Class tutor said, “Everyone has a story to tell. Write about what you know.” So that is what I have done, following his good advice.
In my heart, I have always known I had a story to tell, the problem being, getting started and finding the time to do it. Also, I now feel that I can share the reality without experiencing the pain and shame I would have felt when I was younger. I now know that none of it was my fault.
Retirement has afforded me the ability to surmount these obstacles.
So here goes.

My book is in two sections, the first being autobiographical, based on a childhood full of fun, adventure and pain, and the second, Other Ramblings, is an anthology of poetry which I have written over the years, in addition to other pieces of creative writing which I felt I wanted to include.
