Jonathan L. McCune was born to missionary parents, Henry and Gladys McCune. They dedicated their lives to missionary work in China, ministering there until their retirement, having also served one term in Japan. As a child, Jonathan was with them for one term of six years.He has been involved in various capacities in the churches he has attended for most of his adult life. He served as a Sunday School teacher, youth leader, church administrator, and other various duties. For seven plus years he was an associate pastor at Christian Life Center, Stockton, California. He made six trips to India for several months each time to teach Bible doctrine to various size groups of students at Bible training sessions. He also taught at a Bible school in the Marshal Islands and in Scotland.
