Synopsis

Predicting and mitigating flood risks require an in-depth understanding of hydrological processes and accurate computational modeling. Hydrological models simulate rainfall-runoff relationships to forecast flood events and guide water resource planning. Hydrological Modeling for Flood Prediction explains modeling frameworks, data collection methods, and calibration techniques used in flood forecasting. The book covers physically based, conceptual, and data-driven models alongside GIS and remote sensing applications. It also discusses uncertainty assessment and real-time prediction systems. By integrating theory and case-based examples, it equips researchers and engineers with practical tools for managing flood hazards and enhancing disaster resilience.
