Synopsis

This book is about paediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome (PANS), triggered by HSV1. Naturopathic, complementary medicine has been truly remarkable for our family. Positively, we haven't required an ambulance for years! Representing the essence of motherly love, devotion, and dedication, our bond is strong. We are a partnership. As we push through such a tricky illness, when it's difficult to get compassion and understanding from others, your bond grows ever stronger. While out of our comfort zone most of the time, the determination to gain the knowledge to help my child built. While trying not to lose hope at times, every so often the dots came together, and the symptoms dawned on me: "Oh wow!" Once the pattern of symptoms appears again, I can address the situation much more quickly. Limited information is available about PANS. I really need to share this information with other parents because I didn't know of any book focusing on viral triggers for PANS, and certainly no book about toxins flaring PANS, or even the connection between virus and toxin co-triggers. This illness is so complex. School staff in the past have been unwilling to take on the nuances of how learning requires repetitive instruction. If your brain is inflamed, it makes it very difficult to concentrate or retain learnings. It is certainly more fatiguing for children with PANS; the concept of regular brain breaks and checking in is really important. The idea that children may need to be prompted for hydration and the like could simply be implemented. All children could benefit from this health measure! Deciding which path to take...

À propos de l'auteur

A. E. Robbins is a mother with 27 years in practice as a naturopath. She has documented 10 years of data, watching for trends and patterns to better understand her daughter's illness PANS. There wasn't a lot of information about viral triggers for PANS so extensive documentation of how the viral load could be contained and the patterns indicating the strategies and methods to address multiple situations. Now is the opportunity to share the enormous amount of data, trends and patterns with other parents grappling with this illness, and how she observed toxins could trigger neurological symptoms concurrently. If she could share her learnings from her child along the journey, and others have realisations for their child's trends and patterns, then that would make her heart sing. This mother needs to project to the world, HSV1 can kill babies! Why don't people know not to kiss babies whilst they have a cold sore? This should be general knowledge.
