Rough Guides are written by expert authors who are passionate about both writing and travel. They have detailed knowledge of the areas they write about--having either traveled extensively or lived there--and their expertise shines through on every page. It's priceless information, delivered with wit and insight, providing the down-to-earth, honest read that is the hallmark of Rough Guides.
Jonathan Bousfield first took his bucket and spade to the Adriatic coast in 1975 and after numerous repeat visits ended up living there for good. In addition to the Baltic States, he has also authored guides to Croatia, Poland, Bulgaria and Austria. In between times he has been a rock critic for a UK newspaper, has edited a listings magazine in Bulgaria and is the co-author (with artist Igor Hofbauer) of graphic novella Crimson Lagoon. Jonathan lives in Zagreb and writes extensively about history and culture in Central and Eastern Europe for Jutarnji list, Time Out Croatia and straysatellite.com. His book on Adriatic history, Adria Blue, was published by Sandorf Passage in 2023.
