He is the author or coauthor of eleven non-fiction books and numerous technical papers covering a variety of scientific fields. He enjoys writing, photography, and traveling. He and his wife, Maria, split their time between their homes in Fort Myers, Florida, and Parque del Plata, Uruguay.
