NUALA O’CONNOR is a novelist, short story writer and poet, and lives in County Galway with her family. She is the author of six previous novels, including the bestselling Nora (2021), about James Joyce's wife, Nora Barnacle, and six short-story collections. She has won many prizes for her short fiction, including the Francis MacManus Award and the James Joyce Quarterly Fiction Contest. JAMES JOYCE (1882–1941) was an Irish novelist, short story writer and poet. He is best known for the influential modernist novels Ulysses (1922) and Finnegans Wake (1939) as well as the masterful short story collection Dubliners (1914). Though he spent most of his adult life in Paris, Zurich and Trieste, his birthplace of Dublin was the setting for all of his major fictional works.
