Synopsis

From Children’s Laureate (2022–2024), Joseph Coelho, comes a sparkling and festive compendium of 25 seasonal poems created to be performed and shared aloud.

This enchanting collection invites children and families to explore the magic of words in many voices — poems to be read loudly with joy, softly with tenderness, or whispered with wonder. Readers can turn their Christmas list to Santa Claus into a playful poem, discover verses perfect for school performances, family gatherings, or Christmas Day celebrations, and delight in haikus capturing the hush of falling snow alongside cheeky re‑imaginings of beloved carols.

More than just a poetry book, this is a new family tradition in the making: a book to bring out every December, with a poem for each day leading up to Christmas. It’s a confidence‑building companion that helps children develop their skills in reading aloud, performance, and self‑expression, while creating treasured memories year after year.

With its mix of humour, warmth, and festive sparkle, this collection is the perfect gift to inspire young voices, nurture creativity, and bring families together through the joy of poetry.
