The author brings the Tigray genocide into the spotlight with in-depth analysis and synthesis of the overwhelming reports of rights groups, the world media, universities, international organizations and governments on the massive atrocities committed by the joint army of Ethiopia, Eritrea and special forces and militias of the Amhara region.
The author argues with facts that the war on Tigray is a war of genocide and the massive atrocities committed are crimes of genocide, which should not be glossed over by war crimes and crimes against humanity. According to the United Nations Convention, genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity are crimes under international law and should be adjudicated by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
The National Transitional Justice Policy to be established and administered by the Ethiopian government to litigate and adjudicate the crimes of genocide that its own army and the foreign army it invited have jointly committed, is a mockery of justice as no government, much less a dictatorial regime such as in Ethiopia, could reach guilty verdict upon itself.
Despite the continuous denial and banning of journalists by the Ethiopian regime, even after the signing of the Pretoria Agreement and the process of its implementation in an attempt to destroy evidence of the crimes committed and to get away with the crimes as grave as genocide, no one can escape from the truth and erase the horrors of genocide from the minds of the Tigray people, especially, the survivors of the victims. They will continue to air their voice until the truth is unearthed and justice served. The book is a call on the international community to shoulder its responsibility in bringing perpetrators to justice on hand and to advocates of justice to exert pressure on the international system for upholding justice and holding culprits accountable.
