In Forget/Remember, Asee N Silla crafts a poignant journey through the trajectory of one man's life, using simple, accessible language that speaks directly to the heart. The poem flows with rhythmic repetition, mirroring the man's musical roots, while each chapter feels like a movement in a symphony. Through a stream of consciousness, the poem weaves past events with the emotions they evoke, exploring the lasting impact of forgotten memories on decisions and life choices. At its core, Forget/Remember is about self-awareness - how confronting the forgotten past and understanding the patterns of both failure and success can empower transformation. Framed by a significant relationship, this narrative unfolds as a path from passive acceptance and resentment to active control over one's journey. Forget/Remember invites readers to reflect on the power of memory and its role in shaping a conscious, intentional future. Inspired by fairytales like Grimm's THE SINGING, SPRINGING LARK and Anderson's THE SNOW QUEEN, FORGET/REMEMBER is the story of two young sweethearts who share their dreams of a future together. When life's circumstances pull them apart, will they remember their words, their feelings and their dreams when they are reunited years later?

Asee N Silla loves simplicity in words and wishes to make them available to young and old alike. Since she was a young girl, she has been writing poetry but didn't value her writing as she felt everyone could write words. It was later in life that she found her voice and why she wrote in rhythm and repetition. Asee offers a creative rawness and openness for the readers to experience their own vulnerability through her words.
