Donald MacInnes Baptie was born in Inverness and spent his first seventeen years growing up on the Isle of Skye. It was somewhere within this backdrop of rugged shoreline and wind swept moor that he would begin writing poems at around the age of fifteen. Donald moved to Aberdeen in the mid nineties and continued to write poetry, song lyrics and short story ideas, drawing heavily from the 'spontaneous prose' influence of the Beat Generation, with Jack kerouac quickly establishing himself as a literary hero. Donald Baptie currently lives in rural Aberdeenshire.
