A teleoperated robot roaming in the streets of Mumbai enables anyone to put oneself in the place of the Hindu god Ganesha and have a conversation. Initially conceived as an anthropological experiment, the machine was launched in 2014 and became a collective, political and metaphysical experience. Can a machine make a good divine interface? À propos de l'auteur
Saana Hansen is Postdoctoral Researcher in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Helsinki. She is affiliated with the Kone Foundation-funded project Postcolonial Apology and Legacies of Problematic Pasts (2021-2026) and the Research Council of Finland-funded project The Politics of Repair (2025-2029).
