Shelby has enjoyed a career teaching art and English in the public schools. Working in the classroom has allowed her to help students acquire her love for English and art, while building lifelong relationships and memories with the kids shuffling in and out of her room, not to mention her heart. Her students' spontaneity and innate creativity made each day a once-in-a-lifetime experience. She lives on a small lake in Southern Minnesota. When she's not writing, she's traveling with her husband; on the tennis court; or playing pickleball.
