Synopsis

Step into the gritty, fast-paced world of British gangland with 'The Wrong Man.'

Every action has consequences, and for Frank Pearson, his family will pay the price. As the ruler of the East Midlands criminal underworld, Frank is a man of honour, but unable to accept anyone other than his twin son was to blame for the death of his one true love, he drives a wedge within the family.

Bitterness and resentment tear the family apart, and the consequences are unthinkable. As Frank battles with those trying to take his place in the world, he fails to recognise the demons people closest to him are facing. The Mafia are involved, and Frank's world is on the verge of imploding. No one's talking, yet someone must know something. In a world of violence, people react in the only way they know how.

When the game is on, certain members play it best when no one else knows there's a game being played.

Don't miss the first book in this gripping, raw, and action-packed series that will leave you on the edge of your seat. If you enjoyed 'The Godfather' or 'Peaky Blinders,' you'll love 'The Wrong Man.'

The Wrong Man is book one of The Pearson series. All four books need to be read in order.

What readers are saying about The Wrong Man
---
I started reading this book and was intrigued from page one with the Pearson family. I could not put it down and had it read in three days. MJ Elliott is up there with the best. Excellent plot and storyline. I am now looking forward to reading New Blood.

---As a keen UK crime fiction reader, Peter James, Mark Billingham, M.J Arlidge, Jane Casey etc. I was excited to be recommended this book by M J Elliott. I was not disappointed. The storyline is very well navigated and the characters are colourful old school rogues living to a criminals code of honour. The book is written from the side of the criminal, not from a police detective, which made a welcome change for me. I very much hope that this is the first of many books as I look forward to reading more about the murky underworld where these villains reside. Highly recommended. More please.

---Wasn't sure I was going to like this book as I knew there was quite a lot of violent parts but totally loved it from start to finish, in fact I couldn't put it down A few twists and turns and a couple of gory bits but as soon as I finished this one, I downloaded the second book.

---There are very few books that I become obsessed with and need to turn the next page to find out what happens. This first book was a present, but within a few chapters, I ordered the trilogy. This has never happened before. I am very excited to read about Frank in the subsequent books. Definitely a don't miss read.
